What to Expect

Starting therapy

We respond to telephone or email inquiries within 1-2 business days

  • Consultation: Based on availability, we will schedule a free 20 minute telephone consultation. During this appointment we will take time to get to know each other, discuss what prompted you to seek therapy, review expectations for care, and decide if we are a good fit. If we mutually agree to enter into a therapeutic relationship we will schedule an intake appointment.

  • Intake: During this appointment we will discuss the details of current concerns, including history of symptoms and stressors, life events that contribute to current challenges, and goals for therapy. We will also ask that you complete intake paperwork prior to this appointment. Following this intake session, and if we agree that we can provide the services you want and need, we will begin therapy. A credit card must be provided upon scheduling this intake session.

  • Therapy: Sessions range between 45-60 minutes in length and depending on your treatment needs and goals could occur weekly or every other week to start. The length of therapy is determined by your goals and progress in treatment. Some therapies require extended sessions in order to cover all of the material. Your therapist will discuss with you whether 60 minute sessions are recommended. As you achieve your goals, sessions may decrease in frequency. 

Finding the right therapist is an important decision. We want to make sure that you have a clear understanding of what to expect if you choose to work with a Jet City Psychological Services therapist.

We also want to make sure that you have access to the treatment you want and need. We understand that Jet City Psychological Services may not meet the needs of everyone we see. If at any point in this process we decide that we cannot offer you the best possible care due to limits in our offerings or provider “fit” we will offer you a list of alternative options for care. 


Jet City Psychological Services, PLLC does not contract with any insurance companies. We encourage you to contact your insurance company to explore if the entirety or a portion of your therapy fees can be covered as out-of-network services. Upon request, we will provide you with a monthly superbill (i.e., monthly statement) you can submit to your insurance company to request out-of-network reimbursement.

A good faith estimate of expected charges is available upon scheduling or upon your request.

All providers offer a free, 20 minute initial telephone consultation to briefly discuss what prompted you to seek therapy, learn more about the type of treatment you are looking for, answer any questions you might have, and decide if the services we offer are what you want and need.

The cost of therapy sessions ranges depending on the type of treatment and provider ($200-$350). Please look at individual provider pages to learn more about their specific services and fees.
